Below is a step by step walkthrough on how to change your account settings in outlook to work with our new mail server.

First open Outlook or Outlook Express, and go to the Tools menu, then select Accounts.

 

Once you select Accounts a Window will open up with several options. Select the View or change existing e-mail accounts tab.

 

 

 Then select your mail.tincans.net account and click change. If you are a business customer and we are hosting your email for you, you need to select the account mail.yourdomain.com or whatever your extension happens to be.

An E-mail account properties page will then open as shown below. You will need to change your User Name to your full email address instead of just the username.

 

After you change your username click the button that says More Settings. An Internet E-mail Settings window will open up and you will want to click on the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and click on Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

 

Then you need to click on the Advanced tab and click on the two boxes that say This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)

After you check both of those boxes click the OK button then click the Next button then the Finish button and your done.
